| Peris Wins ASRA Superstock Final At Daytona |

Chris Peris won Saturday afternoon’s American Sportbike Racing Association (ASRA) Pro Series Superstock final at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Peris, from Calgary, AB, grabbed the lead in the 8-lap race around the 2.90-mile (4.65-KM) circuit near the half-way point on his Suzuki GSX-R1000, and continued on to cross the line ahead of second place finisher Michael Barnes of Boca Raton, FL. Lake Elsinore, CA’s Chris Ulrich completed the podium with his third place finish on another Suzuki 1000. Also riding in today’s Superstock final was Guelph, ON’s Matthew Cooper. Cooper, a former 125GP & 250GP frontrunner, finished eleventh on a Yamaha YZF-R1. In other ASRA action at Daytona, Scott Decker from Fort Saskatchewan, AB, finished 28th in Pro Superbike on his Suzuki GSX-R600. Josee Bouchard, a regular in the Canadian Women’s Cup Challenge series, was competing in the Championship Cup Series (CCS) Amateur Middleweight Superbike class during the combined CCS/ASRA Daytona weekend. The Ottawa, ON resident finished 23rd on a Honda CBR600RR. |
