Honda Introduces CBR125R National Challenge |

Honda Canada Inc. introduced to the public for the first time Friday at the Toronto Motorcycle Show the launch of the CBR125R Challenge, a spec series using Honda’s new CBR125R. The CBR125R Challenge, which has been dubbed as the rising star road race series for young Canadians, will be part of selected rounds of the Parts Canada Superbike Championship. The series is envisioned as a starter class for young road racers aiming to move further up the competition ladder. The following stipulations, as found in Honda literature being distributed at the show, are currently in place for the series, with more information expected to follow early in 2008. - Open to racers from 14 years of age to 22 years old as of January 1, 2008, with riders under the age of 18 must provide parental consent.
- The Honda CBR125R will run near-stock except for common aftermarket items sourced through Honda Canada. Some items include Elka rear shocks, Mimic bodywork, Z-1 frame sliders, and Parts Canada race stands. More information will be released at a later date.
Engine performance restrictions and horsepower will be checked on the official Parts Canada Superbike Championship Dynojet Dyno.- As with all classes in the Parts Canada Superbike Championship, Pirelli spec tires will be used.
- Pro riders are not permitted
- Racers are not eligible to compete in additional National classes during event/weekend.
- Central tech support and meeting area will be provided by Honda at all rounds.
- Events will receive TSN National television coverage.
