Parts Canada Superbike Championship: Mosport International Raceway, Ontario, July 8-11 2010 After a week and a half of preparation between race city and Mosport, JHP racing team was ready to get on track, on one of the few tracks in Canada where formula one had races. The 3.9 km course combines high speed corners, fast straightaways, technical corners and high speed transition. Put all these elements together and you have a fantastic racetrack to race for 4-5 round of the Parts Canada Superbike Championship. The team arrived Wednesday on the site; unfortunately, they were unable to get ready at time to ride during the afternoon, while a lot of the amateur riders were already on track. Jeremie would have to work harder on Thursday to get in the pace of the riders who had more track time than him. After two sessions on track, the Granby rider was only a second behind the leader, in sixth position. It was looking very good for the next day qualification. Unfortunately, the weather was really bad on Friday so the officials decided that no class would run qualification under rain. They decided that the last dry session lap times would be picked to decide the grid for both races of the weekend. This decision placed #117 on the second row, in sixth position. Jeremie knew he would need a great start to get in the leader pack. « On the start, my new clutch didn’t slide like what I was waiting, it really surprised me and my front wheel went right in the air. » says the 17 year old racer. From there, He loses a bit of time on the leader and found himself in 6 or 7 position. It has been an incredible battle to the finish with Sam Proulx and Bodhie Edie until the finish line, which he crosses in fifth position. For the second race, Jeremie had a very good start, putting him in third position. Just as in the first race, He fights with Edie, Massé and Greening. He was third until the last corner when he tried to overtake a lapper by the outside of the ten, being push to the curb and being past by rider #84, Phillipe Massé. Missing the podium because of a little mistake like that was really disappointing for the team but «The race was still a looooooot of fun» says Precourt. JHP racing team would like to invite the entire racing fan to Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia, for the two last rounds of the parts Canada Superbike Championship series. They would also like to thanks their sponsors: Radio NRJ, Formule Ford, Spin Limit, La Lichette Glace, Motovan, Picotte Motorsport, Dynatech, CMV, U&K design, The Pinso equipment, Pirelli, Parts Canada, His dad, His mom, the Proulx team |
