Christie earns Pro 600 Championship to end the season

Roz-GarRacing’s rider Jodi Christie Pro #20 of Keene Ontario ended the RACE regional season on a high note winning the RACE Regional Number # 1 Plate in the Pro 600 class and finishing 4th in Superbike.

At the start of Friday we knew it was supposed to be cool with a chance of rain all weekend so with the warm afternoon Jodi put in a few good sessions with times quick enough to leave him on top of the leader board for the day.

After fresh Pirelli tires were installed on the Ontario Powerhouse/BluestreakRacing CBR600RR Saturday morning Jodi was ready for his heat races where he won the 600 and came 3rd in the superbike heat. After discussions with Kevin Graham of Pirelli and John Sharrard of Accelerated Technologies it was decided to prepare for all scenarios on Sunday, one bike was left for the dry and the other was tuned to a full wet setup with Pirelli rains installed. The weatherman did not disappoint and it poured all night and into the morning and though it looked like it would possibly dry up at different times through the day it never did. With some time to get used to the wet conditions in the morning the Honda 600 was handling excellent with only a few minor suspension changes to get ready for the afternoon finals.

In the first final of the afternoon the weather went almost to a dry setup but thankfully it rained a bit to make the decision easier, off the line of the Pro 600 race Jodi had a good start and was able to bring the CBR600RR home for another 1st place finish, the bike handled very well and the bike had no traction issues on the Pirelli full wets.

With a small wait for the superbike race there was some time to watch the other races and catch up with some friends and supporters that dropped by.

Superbike also went off as a full wet race and Jodi felt confident for a win as the bike was so good, lapping in third Jodi was picking his spots to make his passes when another competitor made a move up the inside of corner 2 in the very wet conditions, he did not make the turn, crashed and almost took Jodi and another competitor with him, Jodi was forced to do some dirt riding and the gap to first was to large to make up in the remaining laps. Jodi settled for third behind Andrew, congratulations go out to Sebastian Tremblay on his first Pro win.

Roz-GarRacing was happy with a Pro class win in Jodi’s first year, but as you all know there are people who surround us that make the difference, John Sharrard from Accelerated Technologies, Kevin Graham and Pirelli tires, Jim Brooks for doing double duty and still making time to keep an eye on us. Ontario Honda Powerhouse Dealers, BlueStreak Racing for an endless supply of parts, and John Bickle for the new warmers.

It was a great year with many things to work through as a Pro, Jodi would also like to thank Chris and all the girls and guys who put the series on, every year gets better With the season done we are already looking to 2010 and working at securing a ride for Jodi and the hope is to be back bigger and better.

Once again thank you to all the people who were there to support us through the year, we miss all of you already.

See you at the show
